CHARLESTON, West Virginia — Authorities say a lady fatally shot a guy who was shooting an AR-15-style rifle at a crowd of people gathered for a party in West Virginia.

Dennis Butler, 37, of Charleston, was found with multiple gunshot wounds at 10:45 p.m. EDT Wednesday, according to a news release from the Charleston Police Department, WSAZ-TV reported.
According to The Associated Press, Butler was slain after pulling out a firearm and shooting at individuals at a birthday-graduation party in Charleston.
According to WCHS-TV, there were no injuries among those who attended the party at the Vista View apartment complex.
According to the news station, investigators stated Butler had been warned about speeding in the area since children were there. According to WSAZ, when Butler returned with the weapon and started firing, the woman opened fire and fatally shot him.
“Rather than fleeing the threat, she confronted it last night and saved multiple lives,” Charleston Police Department Chief of Detectives Tony Hazelett stated at a press conference.
According to the Associated Press, the woman waited for police to arrive and cooperated with them.
According to WSAZ, Hazelett stated that no charges would be filed against the woman.
