American Idol Alum Caleb Kennedy To Be Prosecuted After Getting Someone Killed In A Car Crash

Caleb Kennedy has been charged with felony DUI following a car accident that resulted in the death of a woman,
over a year after he was booted from the 19th season of American Idol due to a contentious video. MetroNews reports that Caleb Kennedy, who competed on Season 19 of American Idol, has been arrested and charged with felony driving under the influence (DUI) following a fatal vehicle accident in South Carolina.
Mitchell Ridgeway of the South Carolina Highway Patrol told MetroNews that Kennedy was driving his 2011 Ford pickup on West Murphy Road around noon on Tuesday, Feb. 8, when he “hit” a building after driving into a private drive and striking it with the vehicle. According to him, the individual inside the building perished as a result of the impact.

According to authorities, the 17-year-old singer, who hails from Roebuck, South Carolina, was charged with felony driving under the influence resulting in death.
In addition, Ridgeway stated that “the South Carolina Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate this crash.”
The man was arrested and placed into the Spartanburg County Detention Center on a felony DUI death charge, according to Murray Glenn, spokesman for the 7th Circuit Solicitor’s Office, who made the announcement to MetroNews. On February 9, at 11 a.m., a bond hearing will be place for the defendant. A request for comment from MetroNews was sent to Kennedy directly through social media, but the request was not returned. As of Tuesday evening, no contact information for an attorney was available.
