Carrefour launches a self-serving point of sale which functions 24 hours a day… in the car park of one of its hypermarkets
The Carrefour chain has opened a unique point of sale for its brand in one of its car parks.
Allowing its customers to help themselves 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, without constraint, such seems to be the objective of the first 100% automatic point of sale opened by the Carrefour supermarket chain.
It is in Angoulins, near La Rochelle, that a Carrefour has opened, near the service station of the hypermarket, an automatic point of sale.
“We have opened the 1st automatic self-service point of sale in the car park, near the Carrefour hypermarket service station in Angoulins”, welcomed Bruno Lebon, executive director of Carrefour hypermarkets on his account. LinkedIn.
According to the manager of the hypermarket, this point of sale “open 7 days a day offers an offer of more than 150 products”. 30% of these products are from the Carrefour “distributor” brand, 61% offer a fresh/dry/liquid snacking offer and 30% are convenience products.
Finally “some non-food and auto references” are sold in this automatic box.
“A specific, agile mode of operation, and directly carried out by the operator within the hypermarket”, says the director of the hypermarket.
A first for Carrefour which could, if successful, multiply this type of sale, which is especially solicited outside store opening hours.
