Chelsea set to bid for Bayern Munich winger Serge Gnabry as an alternative for Raphinha.

While considering Raphinha’s replacement and negotiating with AC Milan to sell Hakim Ziyech, Chelsea is interested in former Arsenal winger Serge Gnabry.

After submitting a better bid to Leeds United, Barcelona is hoping to capture Raphinha ahead of Chelsea, who had previously agreed to a £55 million deal for the Brazilian.
Following the purchase of Raheem Sterling, Chelsea will likely focus their efforts on acquiring new defenders while Raphinha wants to join Barca. Thomas Tuchel, the head coach, still wants to bring in at least one new forward.

Ziyech, a member of the team that has begun preseason training in Los Angeles, is the subject of discussions between Chelsea and AC Milan. Gnabry is one possible alternative.

While AC Milan is looking for a deal on a loan with the obligation to buy the winger, Chelsea is open to allowing Ziyech depart but would like to sell him.

Ziyech has reportedly parted ways with his longtime agent and is now believed to be working with Roc Nation Sports, who were involved in the negotiations leading to Romelu Lukaku’s return to Inter Milan and have strong ties to AC Milan.

With Gnabry emerging as a player Chelsea have expressed interest in, AC Milan and Ziyech both hope a trade can be reached. The 26-year-Bayern old’s contract expires in only one year, and according to German media, he would cost £34 million to replace.

Gnabry has double-digit goals in each of his four seasons with the German club, including 17 for Bayern last season.

Gnabry, who joined Arsenal at the age of 16, spent five years there before making a failed loan move to West Bromwich Albion.

With 20 goals scored in 34 appearances for Germany, Gnabry has a stellar scoring record for his country.
