Egypt played a great defense and kept their cool on penalties to beat Cameroon and reach the final of the Africa Cup of Nations.

After Mohamed El Shenawy started the tournament as Egypt’s goalkeeper, Mohamed Abou Gabal was the backup. On Thursday night, he was the hero for the Pharoahs. He saved two penalties before Clinton N’Jie missed the last one that sent them through.

It means Egypt have made it to a second AFCON final in three tournaments. It also means that Liverpool stars Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane will face each other in the final. Senegal made it to the final by beating Burkina Faso on Wednesday, so Salah and Mane will face each other.

Vincent Aboubakar, the top scorer in the competition with six goals, had a bad night in front of goal on Thursday night. Salah had a quiet game, with only two shots on target.

Carlos Queiroz, the manager of Egypt, was sent off when he lost his cool over the referee’s decisions. This gave the game some life. He won’t be on the touchline for Sunday’s final, but that didn’t stop him from celebrating with his team after they won on penalties.

Egypt lost to Cameroon, and they will lose again when they play Senegal. The Lions of Teranga have been great at defense, giving up just two goals. Kalidou Koulibaly, Abdou Diallo, and Edouard Mendy are all great defensive players.

Three goals have come from Mane. Marseille’s Bamba Dieng has also scored two goals.

The final will be held on Sunday at the Olembe Stadium in Yaounde, Cameroon, and it will be played there.
