Moses Armstrong, a well-known Nollywood actor, has been detained by the Akwa Ibom State Police Command on suspicion of raping a 16-year-old girl.
Armstrong’s arrest was confirmed by Emeka Rollas, national president of the Actors’ Guild of Nigeria, who described the situation as “a very severe one.”
He said that the First Lady of Akwa Ibom, Martha Udom Emmanuel, is handling the case as part of her Family Empowerment and Youth Re-Orientation Path Initiative.
Rollas declared: “My association and I do not support being engaged with a youngster as young as 16 years old.
I would prefer not to speak further on this matter despite the fact that this is a very sad situation concerning a member of our group.
The AGN president went on to say that the group disapproves of such a crime.
