Rihanna has a child! The diva and her partner A$AP Rocky had their first child, a boy, on May 13. The news was not made public until May 19, when it was first reported by TMZ and later verified by People.

After being seen hand in hand on a casual, snowy stroll in New York City with the “Fashion Killa” rapper, the superstar revealed her pregnancy at the end of January. RiRi has spent the last few months elevating maternity style by presenting ensemble after ensemble of runway-ready looks at Milan Fashion Week, Paris Fashion Week, and elsewhere.
“I’m hopeful that we were able to redefine what’s deemed ‘acceptable’ for pregnant women,” she said in an April cover story for Vogue, revealing not only her baby belly but also her attitude to pregnancy style. I’m not ashamed of the fact that my body is doing wonderful things right now. This should be a joyous occasion. Why should you keep your pregnancy a secret?”

During the conversation, she also stated that her pregnancy was an unforeseen but ultimately joyful surprise. “Planning? I wouldn’t describe it as planning. However, I am not planning on it. I have no idea when I ovulate or anything like that. “We were just having a good time,” she explained. “And then it appeared on the test… The next morning, I was at the doctor’s office, and our journey began.”

Rihanna dealt with a lot of drama in her third trimester, from reports that Rocky had cheated on her with fashion designer Amina Muaddi (which she quickly dismissed as “false hearsay”) to her rapper beau’s arrest in April in connection with a November 2021 shooting in L.A. (He was later released on bond of $550,000.)

Meanwhile, immediately after revealing her baby pregnancy, the Barbados-born actress reassured fans that her long-awaited follow-up to 2016’s Anti is still in the works. “My fans would murder me if they waited this long for a lullaby,” she joked in February.
