What Drake Thinks About Rihanna’s Pregnancy With A$AP Ferg Rocky
A source tells Metronews247 EXCLUSIVELY that Rihanna’s pregnancy left ex Drake with’mixed emotions.’
Rihanna, 34, has been the buzz of the town since she revealed her pregnancy on January 31 with A$AP Rocky, 33, her boyfriend of approximately two years. While fans were ecstatic for Rihanna, who had previously expressed interest in having children, they were worried about her ex-boyfriend, Drake, 35, who was notoriously head over heals for her. Now, a source close to Drake has spoken to Metronews247 EXCLUSIVELY on how the Canadian rapper is reacting to the news.
Drake has always had a thing for Rihanna, as he stated in 2016. “However, he realized a few years ago that their adventure had come to an end since their paths had simply diverged,” the insider explained. While presenting her with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards, Drake allegedly stated he had adored the Barbados native for years. “I’ve loved her since I was 22,” he explained.
“When Rihanna said she was pregnant, he had mixed emotions,” the person continued. He was happy for her, of course, because he knew she had always desired children. But Drake envisaged himself having a future with Rihanna at one point, so it was simply more proof that there was no future for them.” Drake texted his ex-girlfriend to congratulate her on her pregnancy announcement, he added. “When the time is perfect, he’d love to get their kids together.” He believes Rihanna will make an amazing mother, and he is overjoyed for her,” the source said.
Rihanna and Drake had been friends for years before entering a romantic relationship in 2016. Before that, they had collaborated several times, including on the 2010 hit “What’s My Name?”, 2011’s “Take Care,” and 2016’s iconic “Work.” While they tried to keep their romance low-key, it was clear they had elevated their relationship into something special. However, it appeared that Rihanna was not as into the relationship as Drake was and even called his speech at the 2016 MTV VMAs “uncomfortable” in a 2018 interview with Vogue.
During the same interview, the “Stay” singer said she and Drake no longer kept in touch. “We don’t have a friendship now, but we’re not enemies either. It is what it is,” she stated. And by 2021, she seemed to have completely moved on after she stepped out with A$AP with new ink on her left ankle that covered up a camouflage shark tattoo that is thought to match one that Drake had.
